Maple Syruping – Tapping, Learning, and Tasting!

Are you curious about tapping maple trees to make maple syrup? Dan Vogeler is ready to show you how to do it!

Join Louisa County Conservation and Dan Vogeler for an afternoon of tree tapping and syrup tasting. This family friendly event will be setup for you to come and go as you please. Dan will demonstrate the process of tapping maple trees and teach about boiling that sap down into syrup.
Dan and Sue Vogeler are hosting this program on their property south of Cotter. They have a large unheated building and restrooms where the sap boiling will be taking place. You’ll need to walk back through their prairie to where the maple trees are.
Be sure to dress for the weather!
