Ready for a spectacular day of birding? Come get birdy! Calling all birders, whether you’re a beginner, expert, or somewhere in between! Spend all or part of the day exploring warblers. This FREE Building Better Birders workshop includes both off site field trips and formal presentations with plenty of time for questions. Transportation will be available to Klum Lake.

6 am – arrive at Langwood Education Center
6 am – 8:30 am Bird Langwood
8:30 am – 8:45 am break with coffee
8:45- 9 am commute to Klum Lake
9 -11:00 am bird Klum Lake
11:00- 11:45 lunch- bring your own
11:45 – 1:15 pm Presentation: Intro to Warblers of Iowa, ppt, at Langwood
1:15 -1:30 break
1:30 pm – 3:00 pm Presentation: Birdlife of the Upper Mississippi River: A Field Adventure on the Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge, ppt, at Langwood

The workshop will be conducted by Kelly McKay (BioEco Research and Monitoring Center), with assistance from Mark Roberts (Clinton County Conservation), Brian Ritter and James Wiebler (Nahant Marsh Education Center). Funding for the workshop is provided by the Resource Enhancement and Protection- Conservation Education Program (REAP-CEP).
