Archaeology at Gast Farm

This upcoming Archaeology Program Series will introduce Louisa County residents to various aspects of archaeology and dive into the fascinating prehistory of our our county. 

The series begins with "Archaeology at Gast Farm" on Thursday, August 24 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at the Columbus Junction Civic Center (ICN Room).

 Dr. Bill Green was the State Archaeologist of Iowa from 1988 - 2001 and is now director of the Logan Museum of Anthropology at Beloit College in Wisconsin. He will discuss archaeological discoveries made near Grandview during five years of investigations in the 1990s and in 2016. The presentation will focus on two village sites that were occupied nearly 2000 years ago.
