StarLab Planetarium

Saturday, April 6th, 2019. 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm; Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge Visitor's Center; Free

Starlab is coming to Louisa County! Take some time to space out and escape the heat this summer, as we go on a journey to experience the wonders of our solar system. Starlab is an inflatable, portable planetarium that gives us a chance to see unspoiled views of our night sky and learn about astronomy. We have a couple opportunities for children and adults to explore StarLab.

Constellation Stories: 11 am - 12 pm

In the morning session, participants will learn about constellations and listen to constellation stories from different cultures. This morning session is perfect for wiggly elementary school kids and anyone who is interested in storytelling.

Astronomy: 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

In the afternoon StarLab session prepare to dive further into astronomy topics. This session is great for older children and adults who are interested in astronomy and want the chance to learn about our solar system in a little more depth.

Participants can choose to attend one or both of these programs. Since StarLab has limited seating, pre-registration is required for both programs by Friday, April 5th. For more information or to register please call 319-523-8381 or email Naturalist, Bobbi Provost. Bring the whole family and relax as you explore our night sky!
