June 8 (Training Day); June 20-22 (Trip)
Adventure awaits around every bend! Join us as we explore the Upper Iowa River from Kendallville to Bridge 10. Campers will paddle, camp, cook outdoors, and learn other wilderness skills on this two night, three day adventure. Participants will paddle their way around winding bends, through rapids, past scenic waterfalls, cold springs, and 200-foot chimney bluffs.
Participants must attend the training day on Thursday, June 8th from 1:00 pm-4:30pm at Langwood Education Center. During this time we will be covering camping and paddling basics, the menu for the trip, trip itinerary, what to pack, and other trip details.
A t-shirt is included in the camp fee and enrollment is limited to 12 participants. We will be leaving for the trip on Tuesday, June 20 at 9:00 am and returning on Thursday, June 22 around 5:00 pm. The trip includes the use of tents, food, boats, lifejackets, paddles and transportation. This camp is for youth entering 6th-8th grade and will meet at the Louisa County Conservation Office. To reserve your child's spot, the Louisa County Conservation Office must receive a completed registration form and payment. Nature camps fill up very quickly so be sure to reserve your child's spot in camp early!
