March Hunter Education Class

Thursday, March 7 & Saturday, March 9

This two day course will consist of classroom lessons as well as live fire and shooting demonstrations.  Students must be 11 years or older to take the class, certificates are not valid until a child's 12th birthday.  Students must attend BOTH dates and pass to receive a certificate. If you have taken the online class and need to attend a field day ONLY, contact us at 319-523-8381 to find out when you need to be there.  Participants should bring their own lunch and drink  for Saturday.

Hunter education is a mandatory program that is designed to introduce students to several life-long skills that are important to the many different types of outdoor recreational opportunities. The course teaches students basic survival and first aid skills, water safety, wildlife identification, and the basics of wildlife management, hunting laws, and firearm/archery safety. Hunter education also stresses the importance of individual responsibility and outdoor ethics.
